4 more COVID-19 patients in Cagayan Valley infected with Omicron variant

TUGUEGARAO CITY — Four more COVID-19 patients in Cagayan Valley had been infected with the highly transmissible Omicron variant, the regional office of the Department of Health (DOH) announced on Wednesday, Jan. 19.

The DOH stated that the patients were returning overseas Filipino workers and residents in Cagayan, Isabela, and Nueva Vizcaya provinces.

On Monday, two Omicron cases were detected in Cagayan.

The DOH also said 22 new cases of the Delta variant were registered in the region, from Cagayan mostly.

Contact tracing and isolation of those exposed to the patients were underway.
