WOMAN KILLED IN CAMPUTHAW
A WOMAN was shot dead while buying food in an eatery in barangay Camputhaw, Cebu City.
Erma “Emyat” Rodriguez, 56, died on the spot after sustaining two gunshot wounds in the back.
Illegal drug angle is being looked into as possible motive for the killing, said Senior Insp. Jul Mohamad Jamiri, chief of the homicide section of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO).
Police said was arrested in 2000 on drug charges.
Police said that while the woman was buying food, an unidentified man shot her from behind.

Witnesses described the assailant having a fair complexion, about five-foot tall and was believed to be in his 20s.

STEPDAD FACES RAPE CHARGES
A 36-YEAR-OLD man was accused of raping his stepdaughter in barangay Calajoan, Minglanilla town, southern Cebu.
The man admitted raping the girl when he was arrested in his home shortly after the crime, said PO1 Pete Anthony Cabras of the Minglanilla police station.
Details of the abuse were sketchy.
Initial police investigation revealed that the girl was on her way home from school past 7 p.m. last Tuesday when the alleged rape took place.
The girl reported the abuse to the school principal, who then sought help from the police.
Police said the girl was brought to a hospital for an examination.

WOMAN FOUND DEAD
A 24-YEAR-OLD female college student was found hanging dead in her house in barangay Codia, Madridejos town, northern Cebu.
Police said Venus Lerida was found with a nylon rope tied around her neck and the end connected to the wall of her room.
Police said it was the victim’s brother who discovered the apparent suicide past 3 p.m. last Tuesday.
The woman was rushed to the Bantayan District Hospital where attending physicians declared her dead.
