43 more Central Luzon cops get COVID-19
OLONGAPO CITY–At least 43 new cases of COVID-19 were registered among the personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Central Luzon, local data showed on Monday, Jan. 17.
According to its health service, the new infections raised to 470 active COVID-19 cases among the workforce of the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3).
It was the agency’s all-time high tally since the pandemic struck in 2020.
PRO3 has seen a surge in the number of virus-infected policemen and non-uniformed personnel despite a high vaccination rate among its workforce.
Since 2020, the PRO3 has already registered 3,350 COVID-19 cases with 2, 873 recoveries and seven deaths. INQ
