14 personnel at Silay City hospital under quarantine due to COVID-19
CEBU CITY — At least 14 personnel of the Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital (TLJPH) in Silay City have been quarantined following a spike in COVID-19 cases.
Dr. Maryann Maestral, TLJPH chief, said a nurse and four doctors tested positive for COVID-19, while the rest had high-risk exposure to patients and watchers.
The TLJPH has temporarily suspended its OB/Gyne outpatient department services and is limiting admissions to emergency cases only until further notice.
Maestral said there have been a lot of pregnant women who have tested positive for COVID-19.
“We enjoin the public to please refrain from unnecessary exposure by staying home and observing at least the minimum precaution as cases are beginning to rise in our locality,” a TLJPH advisory said.
