Mabalacat City mayor tests positive for COVID-19 anew

OLONGAPO CITY–Mayor Crisostomo Garbo of Mabalacat City in Pampanga province has tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, the virus causing COVID-19 for the second time.

Garbo made public his health condition on Monday, Jan. 17, explaining that he contracted the viral disease despite strictly following health protocols.

“Being in the public service, I know that I am vulnerable to getting exposed to COVID-19 and I have accepted this challenge,” Garbo said.

While in isolation, he said he was “feeling better” and “in [a] good condition.”

“Whilst in quarantine, rest assured that I will continue to perform my duties remotely as a public servant in the best possible way,” he said.

It was in March last year when Garbo first tested positive for COVID-19. INQ
