Duterte signs prosecutors’ survivors law
The spouses and children of deceased retired members of the National Prosecution Service will now be able to receive the latter’s retirement benefits after President Rodrigo Duterte has signed Republic Act No. 11643, which grants the benefits to the legitimate spouses and dependent children of deceased prosecutors.
The children should not be more than 21 years old, and should not be married or gainfully employed or incapable of self-support because of any mental or physical defect or condition.
The surviving spouses will continue to receive the retirement benefits during their lifetime until they remarry. —LEILA B. SALAVERRIA
