Partly cloudy to overcast skies throughout PH on Friday – Pagasa

Pagasa weather satellite image as of 7:20PM, Jan. 13, 2022      MANILA, Philippines — Partly cloudy to overcast skies will persist over the country on Friday, due the northeast monsoon and the shear line, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).   “Dahil sa northeast monsoon makakaranas ng maulap na kalangitan na may mga mahihinang pagulan sa Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Ifugao, Mountain Province, Aurora at Quezon,” said Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio.   (Due to the northeast monsoon, cloudy skies with light rains will prevail in Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Ifugao, Mountain Province, Aurora and Quezon.)   “Samantala sa nalalabing bahagi ng Luzon, kasama ang Metro Manila, ay makakaranas ng bahagyang maulap hanggang sa maulap na kalangitan na may tiyansa ng mahihinang pagulan,” he added.   (Meanwhile the rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila, will experience partly cloudy to overcast skies with a chance of light rain.)   On the other hand, Eastern Visayas and some areas of Mindanao — specifically Northern Mindanao, Caraga and Davao region — will experience cloudy skies and rain due to the shear line.   The remaining parts of Visayas and Mindanao, meanwhile, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with thunderstorms in Mindanao and isolated light rain in Visayas.   Temperature range in key cities/areas according to Pagasa for Friday:   Metro Manila: 22 to 29 degrees Celsius Baguio City: 12 to 22 degrees Celsius Laoag City:  18 to 29 degrees Celsius Tuguegarao: 19 to 28 degrees Celsius Legazpi City: 23 to 30 degrees Celsius Puerto Princesa City: 24 to 32 degrees Celsius Tagaytay: 20 to 27 degrees Celsius Kalayaan Islands: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius Iloilo City: 25 to 30 degrees Celsius Cebu: 25 to 30 degrees Celsius Tacloban City: 24 to 28 degrees Celsius Cagayan De Oro City: 25 to 30 degrees Celsius Zamboanga City: 23 to 32 degrees Celsius Davao City: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius   Due to the northeast monsoon, gale warning is still raised in the seaboards of Northern Luzon, eastern seaboards of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.   Wave heights in these areas are expected to reach up to 4.5 meters, said Aurelio.

Due to the northeast monsoon, gale warning is still raised in the seaboards of Northern Luzon, eastern seaboards of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
