Duterte OKs renaming Roosevelt Avenue in QC to Fernando Poe Jr. Avenue
MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte signed into law a measure seeking to rename Roosevelt Avenue in Quezon City to Fernando Poe Jr. (FPJ) Avenue.
A signed copy of Republic Act No. 11608 was released to reporters on Thursday.
“The Department of Public Works and Highways shall issue the necessary rules, orders, and circulars to implement the provisions of this Act within sixty (60) days from its effectivity,” the measure reads.
“This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation,” it added.

The late actor, the father of Senator Grace Poe, was hailed as the King of Philippine Movies as he starred in about 300 action films during his acting career that spanned 46 years.
Late former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III in 2012 declared FPJ as a national artist.
