Cooler weather in more parts of PH due to amihan — Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — More parts of the country will experience cooler weather this Wednesday brought by the northeast  monsoon or amihan, the state weather bureau said.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that Luzon and Visayas will experience cooler weather due to the existing weather system.

“Lumakas ang amihan at naaapektuhan ang Luzon at Visayas, kaya asahan po natin ang malamig na simoy ng hangin dulot nito, kasama na din ang mahihinang pag-ulan,” said Aldczar Aurelio, weather specialist of Pagasa.

“Dahil sa amihan, makakaranas ng maulap na kalangitan na may mahinang pag-ulan sa Batanes, Cagayan, kasama din ang Babuyan Islands. Sa nalalabing bahagi ng Luzon, kasama ang Metro Manila ay magiging maganda at maaliwalas ang panahon… Sa Visayas at Mindanao, fair weather po tayo sa araw na ito,” Aurelio added.

(Due to amihan, Batanes, Cagayan, along with Babuyan Islands will experience cloudy skies with light rains. For the rest of Luzon including Metro Manila, fair weather is to be expected… For Visayas and Mindanao, fair weather is also expected today.)

Pagasa said Batanes, Cagayan including Babuyan Islands are expected to have cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon.

The northeast monsoon will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and Visayas.

Mindanao is also expected to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers.

Pagasa also raised gale warning in the seaboards of Northern Luzon, eastern seaboard of Central Luzon and Southern Luzon which will experience rough to very rough seas with 2.8 to 4.5 meters of waves due to the surge of northeast monsoon.

Baguio City: 12 to 21 degrees Celsius
Laoag City:  20 to 29 degrees Celsius
Tuguegarao: 21 to 28 degrees Celsius
Legazpi City: 23 to 31 degrees Celsius
Puerto Princesa City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
