Pampanga 2nd District Rep. Mikey Arroyo

MANILA, Philippines — Pampanga 2nd District Rep. Juan Miguel “Mikey” Arroyo has tested positive for COVID-19.

“Did antigen test [at] 7 a.m. today and I am positive for COVID. I’m asymptomatic for now and have gotten in touch with a doctor to take care of me,” Arroyo said in a Facebook post.

“The advice for now is to isolate at home and take Molnupiravir and vitamins. I’m here in Pampanga where people love me and are always willing to go out of their comfort zones to make sure I am okay,” he added.

In a phone interview with INQUIRER.net, Arroyo said he is already fully vaccinated and has received his booster shot.

“l follow health protocols. Naka-mask ako (I wear a mask) when people face me, I practice social distancing so we have to be very careful,” Arroyo said.

The Department of Health (DOH) on Sunday reported 28,707 new cases of COVID-19, the most since the pandemic started broke out in 2020.

Active COVID-19 cases nationwide rose to 128,114.
