Fire that struck Alabang mall now out – BFP
MANILA, Philippines — The fire that struck Starmall Alabang in Muntinlupa City on Saturday morning was declared out on Sunday noon.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) declared the blaze “fire out” at exactly 12:21 p.m. on Sunday, almost 33 hours after it reached the 1st alarm at around 3:43 a.m. on Saturday.
A total of four firefighters and one volunteer have so far been reported to have been injured in the blaze, while damage to the establishment is estimated to be at P100 million.
Meanwhile, Starmall Alabang in a statement expressed its thanks to the firefighters and volunteers who worked together to put out the fire.
The mall’s management also promised to coordinate with tenants to address their concerns.
“We appeal for your patience and understanding as we wait for the results of the BFP investigation,” it said.
