MANILA, Philippines — Amid the uptick in the number of COVID-19 cases, personnel working onsite at the main offices of the Department of Justice (DOJ) will be reduced from 60 to 30 percent effective January 10, Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra announced on Sunday.
“I have reduced the onsite workforce at the DOJ main offices from 60% to 30% effective Monday, January 10, 2022, till 15 January 2022 or as may be further necessary,” Guevarra told reporters.
“We have disinfected the DOJ premises this weekend and will continue to do so regularly,” he added.
According to Guevarra, work-from-home and online transactions will now be the primary mode of rendering service, as the DOJ has advised personnel who have been exposed to persons with COVID-19 to isolate immediately and seek medical care.
The Supreme Court earlier reduced its work capacity as well to 30 percent starting Jan. 10, as the country experiences an exponential rise in COVID-19 cases in the country, which health experts attributed to the holiday revelry and the Omicron COVID-19 variant of concern.
