Missing girl found dead near cornfield in Cotabato town; suspect arrested
KIDAPAWAN CITY, Cotabato, Philippines — A 7-year-old girl in Magpet town, Cotabato province who was reported missing on Thursday evening was found dead on Friday near a cornfield.
According to a report of the Magpet police station, the girl was asked to buy rice in a village store but was unable to return home.
Her dead body was found by residents in Barangay Mahongcog in Magpet town.

The police report indicated that the girl was choked to death. Police investigators further said that there were also indications she had been raped.
A minor, who supposedly confessed to having killed the girl, is being held at the Magpet Municipal Police Station.
