Pasig can’t open more vax sites due to lack of personnel, says Vico Sotto

MANILA, Philippines — Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto said Friday the city cannot open more COVID-19 vaccination sites as it does not have the personnel, with many of the city’s health personnel now in quarantine.

In a tweet, the mayor said booster vaccinations against COVID-19 in Pasig are ongoing.

“Our COVID-19 vaccine booster shots are ongoing. However, we are unable to open more sites due to the lack of manpower. Many of our health personnel are under quarantine,” he said.

“Thank you for your patience and understanding during these trying times,” Sotto added.

Pasig City has 1,082 active cases of COVID-19 as of Thursday, according to the LGU’s Public Information Office.

The city has already confirmed 60,578 cases of the disease since the start of the pandemic. Of this number, 58,025 have recovered but 1,471 have led to deaths.
