MANILA, Philippines — The total death count due to Typhoon Odette is now at 407 as of Saturday, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
Meanwhile, the NDRRMC said 82 individuals remain missing and 1,147 were injured. The typhoon also affected 1,140,118 families or 4,462,997 individuals in 6,530 barangays.
A total of 452,423 individuals are currently displaced, 319,097 of which are currently inside the 1,335 operational evacuation centers (EC), while 133,326 are outside ECs.
The typhoon also left P28,163,718 worth of damaged houses, P16,656,694,030.97 worth of damaged infrastructure, and another P6,909,439,389.24 worth of agriculture damage.
A total of 334 cities/municipalities in MIMAROPA (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan) Region 6, Region 8, and Caraga are now under a state of calamity following the strongest storm to hit the country in 2021, said the NDRRMC
