Initial investigation showed that Garcia, who was aboard his motorcycle going to San Marcelino town at around 11:30 p.m., overtook another motorcycle and collided head-on with the motorcycle being driven by Fariñas.

With the strong impact, both drivers as well as the passengers of Fariñas identified as Jonel Barantes, 22, and a 12-year-old boy were thrown off their vehicles into the road pavement.

They were all taken to the nearby San Marcelino District Hospital but Fariñas and Garcia died along the way.
