Nearly 2M AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine doses arrive in PH
MANILA, Philippines — Nearly two million doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine procured by the private sector, were delivered to the Philippines on Wednesday morning.
The doses, totaling 1,981,500, arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 at around 11 a.m., the National Task Force against COVID-19 said.
According to NTF chief implementer and vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr., a total of 202 million vaccine doses have been delivered to the country as of Dec. 27.
This, he said, is “more than enough” to vaccinate at least 100 million individuals, including the administration of booster shots or additional doses.
Over 47.8 million individuals in the Philippines are so far fully vaccinated against COVID-19, while over 60.8 million individuals have at least received their first dose.
