2M doses of AstraZeneca vaccine that private sector bought arrive in PH

MANILA, Philippines — Some two million AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine doses purchased by the private sector were delivered to the Philippines on Tuesday morning.
The doses, totaling 2,003,500, arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 at around 11 a.m., according to a live stream of state-run PTV.
As of Dec. 27, a total of 202 million vaccine doses have been delivered to the country since February, according to vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr.
This, he said, is “more than enough” to vaccinate at least 100 million individuals, including the administration of booster shots or additional doses.
Another batch of nearly two million AstraZeneca doses is also expected to be delivered on Wednesday, according to the National Task Force against COVID-19.
