Olongapo line crew to help restore power in Cebu

OLONGAPO CITY—The private power distributor in this city on Thursday (Dec. 23) announced that it has deployed its own line crew to Cebu province to help restore electricity in the area that was hit by Typhoon Odette (international name: Rai)

In a statement, the Olongapo Electricity Distribution Company Inc. (OEDC) said its team will fix toppled power lines in Cebu.

“The distribution facilities in the area sustained heavy damage such as toppled poles, downed wires, and damaged transformers, ” OEDC said.

Earlier, the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) also sent an 11-man team to help in the rehabilitation of Siargao Island, which was also among the hardest hit by the typhoon.

SBMA Chair Wilma Eisma said the team from their fire department would spend the holidays helping the typhoon victims.
