Aksyon Demokratiko thankful despite Isko’s slide in rankings: Many still pick him as 2nd option

MANILA, Philippines — Aksyon Demorkatiko, the political party of presidential aspirant and Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, is still thankful for the public’s support despite his slide in rankings in the latest 2022 national election surveys.

According to the latest Pulse Asia survey released on Wednesday, Moreno yielded his second-place rank in previous surveys to Vice President Leni Robredo, with only eight percent of survey respondents voting for him if elections were held during the survey period from December 1 to 6.

But the same survey showed that Moreno was the top second pick for 23 percent of the respondents — ahead of other presidential aspirants Senator Panfilo Lacson and Robredo.

“Nagpapasalamat kami at marami pa rin ang kinokonsidera si Mayor Isko Moreno kaya siya ang top 2nd choice in the same Pulse Asia survey. Pag iigihan pa namin ang pagiikot, pagkukumbinse, at pagpapakilala sa kanya at sa kanyang mga nagawa sa lungsod ng Manila na kaya nyang gawin para sa buong bansa,” Aksyon chairperson Ernest Ramel said in a statement.

Despite the slide, and Robredo’s emergence as a leading candidate to challenge former senator Bongbong Marcos’ high rankings, Ramel said that there is still a long way to go before the election proper — as they believe the Manila Mayor would still emerge victorious.

Robredo got 20 percent of the respondents’ votes, while Marcos was a far first, with 53 percent of the people interviewed saying they would vote for him.

“Masyado pang maaga, di pa nagsisimula ang official campaign period, at marami pang maaaring mangyari,” he said.

“Naniniwala kami na ang Aksyon Demokratiko standard bearer na si Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso ang siyang mananaig sa huli dahil napatunayan na siya ay kakayahan, track record, karanasan at tunay na puso para sa masang Pilipino,” he added.
