MANILA, Philippines — Novaliches Bishop Emeritus Teodoro Cruz Bacani collapsed while celebrating the mass for Simbang Gabi (night mass) on Monday, December 20.

In a video from DWXI shared by former Senator JV Ejercito, Bacani was seen falling as he was about to give communion.

Bacani said his legs and knee became numb which caused his collapse. The bishop still proceeded to finish the night mass.

“I am very okay again,” Bacani said in a text message to INQUIRER.net. “Nothing serious at all.”
