3-month-old infant among 6 new COVID-19 cases in Tarlac

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga––A 3-month-old boy was among the six new COVID-19 cases recorded Monday in Tarlac, the provincial government disclosed in its latest bulletin.

The infant from Capas town showed mild symptoms and is under quarantine.

Under quarantine are two residents of Gerona town and one patient each from the municipalities of Camiling and Sta. Ignacia, and Tarlac City. The province’s active COVID-19 cases stood at 41.

Since the pandemic began last year, the province has recorded 18,989 COVID-19 cases, of which 18,111 have recovered, and 837 have died.

As of Dec. 16, only 617,648 residents, or 41 percent of Tarlac’s 2020 population of 1,503,456, have been fully inoculated. At least 228,754 residents, or 15.2 percent, have received their initial dose of the vaccines.

Although Tarlac has yet to achieve herd immunity, the provincial government has been inviting people to visit the night bazaar and Christmas-related events at various sites in Tarlac City.

“Eat, Shop and have Fun. Halina at isama ang mga kaibigan o kapamilya sa Holiday Night Bazaar daily from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., Centro Mercato near GSIS building (Come and bring friends or family to the Holiday Night Bazaar daily from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., Centro Mercato near GSIS building).
