MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga––San Clemente and La Paz are the latest towns in Tarlac province to have zero COVID-19 cases, the provincial government announced on Sunday, Dec. 19.

San Clemente’s remaining patient recovered from the disease on Dec. 17, while La Paz’s two cases became well the next day.

Earlier, Anao, Ramos, and San Manuel towns had been declared free of COVID-19.

The Tarlac government hoped that the four towns with one case each would soon become COVID-free. These are Pura, Moncada, Sta. Ignacia, and Mayantoc.

As of Sunday, the province has 39 active cases. It registered one new case, five recoveries, and no deaths on the same day.

Tarlac City has the most active cases at eight, followed by Capas town (6) and Victoria (5).

Tarlac has recorded 18,983 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began last year. Of these, 18,107 had recovered while 837 had died.
