P13-M shabu seized in Quezon buy-bust, 2 drug suspects arrested
LUCENA CITY – The local police, acting on tips from former drug users, arrested two drug suspects and seized over P13 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation here on Friday night.
Police Colonel Joel Villanueva, Quezon police chief, said anti-illegal drugs operatives collared Mark James Salazar, 27, and Toshimaru Dano, 29, after they sold P1,000 worth of shabu to an undercover police officer in Barangay (village) Gulang-Gulang around 7:09 p.m.
Authorities seized 17 sachets of shabu weighing 640.5 grams.
Police tagged Salazar as a “high value individual” on its list of identified drug pushers in the province. Dano is classified as a “newly identified drug personality” or rookie in the drug trade.
The suspects were detained and will face a formal complaint for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police are conducting further investigation to determine the source of the illegal drugs.
