MANILA, Philippines — Typhoon Odette (international name: Rai) made its 9th landfall over the municipality of Roxas in Palawan on Friday afternoon, the state weather bureau said.
According to the latest advisory of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), Odette made landfall over Roxas at 3:10 p.m. as the typhoon was most recently located 105 kilometers northeast of Puerto Princesa City packing maximum sustained winds of 150 kilometers per hour (kph) and gusts of up to 205 kph.
The government’s weather service said Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, and Antique provinces will experience stormy weather conditions in the next few hours while Negros Oriental and the rest of Mimaropa and Western Visayas are likely to have rains with gusty winds due to Odette.
The trough of Odette will also bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Calabarzon, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Nueva Ecija, and Bulacan, according to Pagasa.
