Zero COVID cases logged in Ilocos Norte for 2 days

LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte—This province logged zero COVID-19 cases in two straight days on Dec. 15 and 16, bringing down the total number of active infections to 26, data from the provincial government showed.

Since the pandemic began, the province has recorded at least 18,954 COVID-19 cases and 487 deaths, the same data showed.

At least 12 towns and cities in the province are free of COVID-19 cases. These are Pagudpud, Adams, Dumalneg, Carasi, Solsona, Nueva Era, Marcos, Sarrat, Badoc, Pinili, Currimao, and Paoay, the same data showed.

All of the COVID-19 facilities in the province were within the safe zone, with 13.2 percent of the 220 beds devoted to COVID-19 patients occupied, data from the Department of Health showed.

Despite the downward trend in cases, the provincial government still reminded the residents not to be complacent by strictly adhering to standard health protocols.
