Camarines Norte town declares state of calamity due to ‘Odette’

shootoutLEGAZPI CITY––The Jose Panganiban town government in Camarines Norte declared a state of calamity Friday morning to assist the families affected by Typhoon “Odette” (international name: Rai).

Mayor Ariel Non said the typhoon isolated at least 800 families in the three island villages of Dahican, Dayhagan, and Salvacion.

“Most of them are fishermen whose livelihood are affected for almost three weeks because of big waves” caused by inclement weather even before “Odette” slammed into the country Thursday, Non said.
