MANILA, Philippines — Around 1.7 million donated doses of Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccine Janssen were delivered to the country on Tuesday.
The National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19 said that of the 1,778,400 doses of the single-shot Janssen, 1,512,000 were donated by Sweden and 266,400 were given by Austria.
The donations were coursed through the Covax Facility.
The shipment was carried by Royal Dutch Airlines’ flight KLM0803 which arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 around 7 p.m.
The Swedish and Austrian donations were the fourth out of the five batches of delivery within the day.
Earlier, the Philippines received 1.5 million Moderna, 945,600 Johnson & Johnson, and two million Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine doses from France, Spain, the Netherlands, and China.
One more shipment, carrying around two million more COVID-19 vaccine doses, is scheduled to arrive within the day to complete the over eight million expected doses.

According to the NTF, the eight-million-dose delivery is the biggest single-day vaccine arrivals.
As of Monday evening, the country already received a total of 158,540,170 doses of various COVID-19 vaccines since deliveries began in February.
