84% of Olongapo’s target population vaxxed with 1st dose of COVID jab

OLONGAPO CITY — At least 152,693 residents or 84 percent of the target population had been inoculated with the first dose of the vaccine against COVID-19, local data showed on Monday, December 13

According to the city health office, the local government had already administered 258,600 COVID-19 shots since it started the rollout in the middle of this year.

Of this figure, 113, 735 residents or 58 percent had been fully vaccinated, including those who received the single-shot Janssen vaccine.

At least 1, 221 more residents belonging to the medical frontliners had received the booster shot.

The city is targeting 182,000 residents or 70 percent of its 260,000-population to achieve herd immunity against the viral disease.

As of Monday, the city’s active cases stood at five with no new infections recorded in the last few days.
