2 men killed over argument about girls in Misamis Oriental town
MANTICAO, MISAMIS ORIENTAL—Two men were stabbed to death by their friends after a heated argument about girls as they binged on liquor Thursday evening (Dec. 9) in Barangay Poblacion here.
Maj. Renz Marrion Serrano, Manticao police chief, identified the victims as Eljan Baculong, 22 and Andrew Tacbobo, 23, both residents of Barangay Poblacion.
One of the suspects was identified as Junriel Orong, 25, and his 17-year-old unnamed companion.
Serrano said the victims, upon invitation, joined the group of the suspects in a drinking spree after witnessing the Christmas lighting event at the town’s public plaza.
As they were drinking, the victims caught the attention of the girls in the group, which angered the suspects, one of whom threatened to stab them if they didn’t leave, Serrano said.
