MAN FACES ILLEGAL RECRUITMENT CHARGES

CHARGES were filed in court against a man who purportedly duped six persons into working abroad although he has no authority to do so.

William Medicielo will be facing trial on charges of large-scale illegal recruitment.

No bail was recommended.

In his resolution, Asst. City Prosecutor Ernesto Narido found probable cause to indict Medicielo.

Narido took into consideration the receipts of payment signed by Medicielo.

One of the complainants, Rochelle Wong, gave P175,000 to Medicielo upon the latter’s demand.

Medicielo told Wong that the amount was to be used for processing her documents and other fees.

However, Wong was never deployed.

Medicielo allegedly received a total of P335,000 from the complainants.

AMERICAN’S HOME BURGLARIZED

CASH and valuables amounting to P109,000 were stolen from the two-story house of a retired US Army soldier in barangay Lamac, Consolacion town, northern Cebu.

Terry Davenport, 59, a retired US Army from Ohio, USA, said he discovered the burglary around 6 a.m. last Saturday.

Davenpost is married to a Filipina and has been living in the country for the past 20 years.

The American said the missing items were left in the house’s balcony.

3 HURT IN CARMEN SHOOTING

THREE friends, including a 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl, were wounded in a shooting incident in barangay Cogon East, Carmen town, northern Cebu.

Police said gang rivalry may have something to do with the attack since the victims were reportedly members of a youth gang.

One of the victims, Amado Rosauro, 20, denied that they belong to a gang, said PO2 Jezrhel Into of the Carmen police .

The victim sustained gunshot wounds on their bodies. They were rushed to the hospital, while the assailants fled.
