MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila still had the most number of new COVID-19 cases among all regions / provinces nationwide on Wednesday, while Quezon City topped the list among all cities and municipalities, OCTA Research said Thursday, citing data from the Department of Health (DOH).
Based on the list shared by OCTA Research fellow Guido David on Twitter, Quezon City recorded 27 new cases on Wednesday, followed by Puerto Princesa, Bacolod, and Zamboanga City that each had 12 new cases.
Meanwhile, Navotas City, Taguig City, and General Santos City had eight new cases each, according to the data.

The City of Manila, meanwhile, recorded seven new cases, while Legazpi City and Las Piñas City each had six additional coronavirus infections.
Meanwhile, another list shown by David in a separate tweet showed that Negros Occidental was the province with the highest new cases on Wednesday with 23 more patients.

It was followed by Cavite with 16 new cases, Palawan with 13 cases, and Zamboanga del Sur and South Cotabato with 12 cases.
The entire country reported 370 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, bringing the active cases of the disease to 12,510 amid the threat of the Omicron variant that is spreading overseas but is yet to be detected in the Philippines.
The Department of Health (DOH) earlier said that there is currently no clustering of COVID-19 cases in any part of the country that could indicate the presence of the said variant.
With the downward trend of coronavirus cases, the DOH has already declared that the Philippines is now at minimal risk for COVID-19.
