MANILA, Philippines — Most parts of the Philippines will have cold and rainy weather on Wednesday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported.
The northeast monsoon, locally known as amihan, will continue to prevail over Luzon, bringing cloudy skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and northern Quezon including Polillo Islands.
While the rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila, may have fair weather or partly cloudy to cloudy skies, it may also experience chances of isolated light rains.
Meantime, the shear line will cause cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Visayas, Caraga, and Bicol Region.
The rest of Mindanao will have fair weather with chances of isolated rain showers brought by localized thunderstorms.
Pagasa raised a gale warning over the seaboards of northern Luzon and central Luzon, and the eastern seaboards of southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
“Ang mga lugar na ito ay magiging maalon hanggang sa napakaalon. Kaya paalala po sa ating mga kababayan na huwag munang pumalaot sa araw na ito dahil sa matataas ang alon sa mga lugar na ito,” Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said during the public weather forecast.
(These areas will have moderate to rough coastal waters. So, a reminder to our fellow Filipinos to not sail today because of the high waves.)
Moreover, the weather bureau is not monitoring any weather disturbances inside and outside the Philippine area of responsibility.
