MANILA, Philippines — Members of the Manila Police District (MPD) arrested a security guard in Quezon City for three counts of rape.
Based on a spot report released by the MPD on Tuesday, the suspect is identified as Gilbert Baclas, tagged as most wanted person of Diplahan, Zamboanga Sibugay.
Baclas, 33, was a native of Diplahan but is currently residing in Barangay Culiat, Quezon City.
The suspect was arrested on Monday at 8:40 p.m. through a joint manhunt operation and surveillance conducted by the MPD, Quezon City Police District, and the provincial intelligence team of Region 9.
He was apprehended by virtue of a warrant of arrest under three criminal cases issued by Judge Josefino Bael, of the Regional Trial Court Branch 31.
After his arrest, Baclas was then brought to the office of the scene of the crime operatives for medical examination. He will temporarily be detained at the District Police Intelligence Operations Unit detention facility prior to the return of the warrant to the said court.
