Aurora’s active COVID-19 cases down to 1

Healthcare workers in Aurora are looking forward to a virus-free status as the province has one remaining COVID-19 patient left and seven of its eight towns no longer have active cases as of Monday, Dec. 6.

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga––Healthcare workers in Aurora are looking forward to a virus-free status as the province has one remaining COVID-19 patient left and seven of its eight towns no longer have active cases as of Monday, Dec. 6.

Aurora’s emergency operations center said the only active COVID-19 case from Casiguran town is recuperating in a hospital.

The town of Maria Aurora was declared COVID-free after its two patients recovered Monday. It joined the capital Baler and Dilasag, Dinalungan, Dingalan, Dipaculao, and San Luis as COVID-19-free towns.

Dilasag had no active case since Nov. 13, while Dinalungan became free of COVID-19 on Nov. 24.

On Monday, Aurora recorded zero new cases, two recoveries, and no deaths.

It has recorded 3,636 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began last year. Of these, 3,401 had recovered, while 234 had died.

Gov. Gerardo Noveras has been urging Aurora residents to get vaccinated against COVID-19 for the province to achieve herd immunity.

As of Monday, 75,354 or 46.8 percent of 160,889 target residents of Aurora have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, while 42,044 or 26 percent of the eligible adult residents have received one vaccine dose.
