Pagasa: Cloudy skies, isolated rain showers nationwide

MANILA, Philippines — Luzon and the Visayas will experience cloudy skies and rain showers as the northeast monsoon or “amihan” continues to prevail over the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Monday.

In Mindanao, cloudy skies, scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected in the Caraga and Davao regions due to the shear line.

The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

A gale warning was raised over the seaboards of Northern Luzon and Central Luzon, and the eastern seaboards of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

“Ang mga lugar na ito ay makararanas po ng maalon hanggang sa napakaalon. Kaya paalala po sa ating mga kababayan na huwag munang pumalaot sa mga lugar na ito dahil may inaasahan pa rin tayo na matataas na alon,” Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.

(These areas will experience moderate to rough waves. The public is advised to not venture out at sea in these areas.)

He added that there is no weather disturbance being monitored inside and outside of the Philippine area of responsibility.
