Villarico scores three goals as CQCU’s rout Sunken Garden
DAN Villarico proved his worth anew as he scored three goals in Cebu Queen City United’s (CQCU) 12-0 demolition of the Sunken Garden United FC in yesterday’s United Football League (UFL) Second Division Tournament game at the Turf in Bonifacio Global City.
The Philippine Men’s U-19 member showed consistency in his plays after he was tapped to start in the first 11.
CQCU head coach Mario Ceniza said Villarico, who scored at the 8th, 29th and 59th minutes of the match, was a revelation for the team.
“We never started him in the first 11 for our first three games. We only tapped him in the last two games,” said Ceniza of the former Abellana National School mainstay.
Others who joined Villarico in CQCU’s scoring spree were Rommel Cuizon, Limhar Baunsit, Rene Menchaevez Jr., German Doronila Jr., Junard Aguilar, Marion Rey Cubelo, Benedict Luis Arriola, Bryan Eborda and Jaymile Conmigo.
The team now has 10 points after nailing its third win in the tournament and enjoys a fifth place standing among 12 teams.
