Manila traffic advisory

Bracing for very heavy traffic, the Manila city government has issued an advisory for motorists on the Iglesia ni Cristo Grand Evangelical Mission at Rizal Park on Tuesday.

Though the event won’t start until 5 p.m., Katigbak Drive, South Drive and Independence Road will be closed to traffic beginning at noon.

Motorists are advised to take Taft Avenue to get to and from Jones Bridge, MacArthur Bridge or Quezon Bridge, and Quirino Avenue to get to or from Nagtahan Bridge.

Parking areas have been designated—for VIPs by the north wing of the Quirino Grandstand, while those with car passes can park on South Drive from Roxas Boulevard to Independence Road.

Buses can park on one lane of Roxas Boulevard from P. Burgos to P. Ocampo Streets, on one lane of Bonifacio Drive from 25th Street to Anda Circle, or at the PICC complex and Paco Park.

Light vehicles can park on one lane of T.M. Kalaw Street between Roxas Boulevard and Maria Orosa Street, on the Roxas Boulevard service road from T.M. Kalaw to P. Ocampo, on the eastbound lane of P. Burgos between Roxas Boulevard and Maria Orosa, and on the northbound lane of Bonifacio Drive between 25th Street and Anda Circle. Jaymee T. Gamil
