VisMin to have cloudy skies due to trough of typhoon outside PAR
MANILA, Philippines — The state weather bureau said Visayas and Mindanao, also the southern parts of Palawan, can expect cloudy skies with isolated rains starting Friday due to the trough of the tropical cyclone outside the Philippine area of responsibility.
Weather updates from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) showed that even as Typhoon Nyatoh continues to move farther away from the country, it has left behind cloud clusters that cover parts of Mindanao already.
“Patuloy na kumikilos papalayo itong bagyong si Nyatoh, at may naiwan itong mga cloud clusters or part ng kanyang trough na nakaka-apekto ngayon sa may Visayas at Mindanao,” weather specialist Raymond Ordinario said.
(Typhoon Nyatoh continues to move away from the country, but it has left cloud clusters or a part of its trough which now affects Visayas and Mindanao.)
“Dahil dito sa nasabing trough, inaasahan pa rin natin na makulimlim na panahon na may kasamang kalat-kalat na pag-ulan at pagkulog sa buong Mindanao at Kabisayaan, kasama na ang southern portion ng Palawan, including the Kalayaan Group of Islands,” he added.

It is currently moving northeastward — away from the country — at a quick pace of 45 kph.
For Luzon, weather may also be cloudy with light rains especially over the northern portions but this is because of the northeast monsoon or amihan, which remains the prevalent weather system.
Southern parts of Luzon may see generally fair weather aside from isolated light rains.
On Saturday, cloudy weather would continue over Northern Luzon provinces due to the northeast monsoon, giving cold temperatures over Tuguegarao, ranging from just 19 to 27 degrees Celsius, 21 to 30 degrees in Laoag, and 12 to 20 degrees in Baguio City.
Amihan’s effect may also be felt in Metro Manila, which will have temperatures of 22 to 31 degrees Celsius, Legazpi with 24 to 30 degrees, and Puerto Princesa with 25 to 31 degrees.
Over Visayas and Mindanao, weather may start improving but isolated rains and thunderstorms may still happen. Temperatures over Iloilo and Cebu may play between 25 to 31 degrees Celsius, Tacloban with 26 to 31 degrees, Zamboanga with 24 to 31 degrees, Cagayan de Oro with 24 to 30 degrees, and Davao with 25 to 32 degrees.
Due to the northeast monsoon and Typhoon Nyatoh, a gale warning remains raised over several parts of the country, stretching Central Luzon and Ilocos Region’s coastal waters to the west, the whole Ilocos Region and Cagayan Valley coastline including Babuyan Islands and Batanes, down to the entire eastern seaboards of Luzon and Visayas, and the eastern waters of Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Davao Oriental.
