CITY OF MALOLOS––At least 98,317 residents in Bulacan province were inoculated on Nov. 29 and 30 against COVID-19, officials said Wednesday, Dec. 1.

Gov. Daniel Fernando said he believed Bulacan could reach its target of 182,902 vaccine recipients by Wednesday.

Fernando said the province would tap more vaccination centers and volunteers to meet the target even after the three-day national vaccine campaign.

“We can achieve herd immunity before the end of the year, and this will help the national government in its target to protect Filipinos from the viral disease,” he told reporters.

As of Tuesday, the province’s active cases dropped further to 519, its lowest so far since Dec. 16, 2020, when it recorded 478 active infections, according to Dr. Hjordis Marushka Celis, Bulacan COVID-19 task force vice-chair.

Since last year, Bulacan registered 88,936 COVID-19 cases with 86,970 recoveries and 1,447 deaths.
