P40k illegal drugs seized in Camarines Sur operation

LEGAZPI CITY – A high-value drug suspect yielded P40,800 worth of shabu (crystal meth) after he was arrested by police in an operation in Baao town in Camarines Sur province on Monday.

Police Major Mary Grace Tagtag, chief of Baao police, said in a report that Sancho Lomeda, 48, was arrested in an operation Barangay Buluang at around 5:30 p.m.

Tagtag said when the police responded to a report on illegal gambling operation in the area, they noticed that Lomeda became uneasy and started taking a blue plastic canister out from his pocket, which they found out had nine sachets of shabu.

Upon body search, the police also recovered another sachet of shabu from the suspect.

Tagtag said a total of 6 grams of shabu was confiscated from Lomeda who was listed in the illegal drugs watch list.

Lomeda is now under custody and facing charges for violation of Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
