President Rodrigo Duterte does not look away when his men are linked to corruption, Malacañang insisted on Thursday, noting that in the past the chief executive has sacked officials who were close to him.

MANILA, Philippines — Former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque has endorsed the presidential bid of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) standard-bearer Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Roque has also joined the senatorial lineup of Marcos and his tandem Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

The camp of Marcos said that Roque sent a letter to the former senator on Nov. 25, endorsing the presidential bid of the late dictator’s son and expressing his desire to accept the adoption of PFP as guest candidate for senator.

Roque, who is running for senator under the People’s Reform Party, was a former law professor at the University of the Philippines and a former human rights lawyer before he joined the Duterte administration as presidential spokesperson from 2017 to 2018. He later resigned but was reappointed in April 2020.
