Travelers from HK must follow protocols for countries on ‘yellow’ list — Palace
MANILA, Philippines — Travelers from Hong Kong must follow the testing and quarantine protocols for countries included in the ‘yellow’ list amid the threat of the Omicron COVID-19 variant, Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles said on Sunday.
In October, the government classified Hong Kong as a “green” country.
“Inbound international travellers coming from HongKong shall comply with the testing and quarantine protocols for ‘Yellow’ list countries,” Nograles said in a statement.
Aside from South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Eswathini, and Mozambique, the 1 government also placed Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium, and Italy under ‘red’ list until December 15 to prevent entry of the Omicron variant.
Hong Kong has reported cases of the new COVID-19 variant, which mutations were first discovered detected in South Africa.
