TAGBILARAN CITY — An attempt to give an online class a better internet connection ended in tragedy after two men died from electrocution in Inabanga town, Bohol on Friday afternoon.
Police Major Cresente Gurrea, chief of the Inabanga Police Station, identified those killed as Alein Lao Petalcorin, 33, a cellphone technician; and Joey Impas Vistal, 31, a laborer.
Another man, Ricardo Ucab, 37, sustained burns in the different parts of his body but survived.
Based on their investigation, Gurrea said it was raining when the three men installed a WiFi signal booster when a bamboo pole they were using accidentally touched a live electrical wire.
Local rescuers brought the three men to the Francisco Dagohoy Municipal Hospital for immediate medical attention.
However, Petalcorin and Vistal were declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Lao, on the other hand, is now recuperating in the same hospital.
