MANILA, Philippines — A 4.0-magnitude earthquake hit Antique on Monday night, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
Phivolcs said the epicenter of the quake was located 69 kilometers (km) northeast of Tibiao, Antique, and was recorded at 8:49 p.m.
Phivolcs said that Intensity III was felt in Tibiao and Culasi; Intensity II in Valderrama; and Intensity I in San Jose de Buenavista all in Antique province.
State seismologists said the temblor was tectonic in origin and had a depth of only 5 km.
Phivolcs said no infrastructure or property damage and aftershocks may be expected from the earthquake.
