MANILA, Philippines — Only the cities of Muntinlupa and Las Piñas have a high risk intensive care unit (ICU) utilization rate in Metro Manila, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said on Monday.
In an interview on TeleRadyo’s Kabayan, Vergeire said that the Philippines and Metro Manila’s ICU utilization is at 30 percent only.
“Dito po sa Philippines, low risk po tayo ngayon ‘pag tinignan ang kabuuan ng ating bansa, we are at 30-percent ICU utilization,” she said.
(Here in the Philippines, we’re at low risk at 30-percent ICU utilization.)

(But here in the National Capital Region, while it is also low at 30-percent ICU utilization, two cities are at high-risk ICU utilization. These are Muntinlupa and Las Piñas.)
Vergeire said that they are monitoring the situation to know the causes and to provide necessary assistance.
(We are monitoring it to know the reasons behind this and second, to know the assistance that we could give.)
