MANILA, Philippines — COVID-19 has claimed 175 more lives on Sunday, raising the country’s death toll to 47,074, the Department of Health (DOH) said.
The total deaths currently account for 1.67 percent of the total 2,826,410 confirmed cases in the Philippines and 0.91 percent of the deaths recorded globally.
Worldwide deaths, according to the Johns Hopkins University COVID-19 tracker, currently number 5,146,855, while infections are at 257,189,798.
Meanwhile, total current active infections in the country slightly decreased to 21,101, after recoveries increased to 2,758,235.
The country also continues to have a low health care utilization rate, according to the DOH, with only 31 percent of ICU beds, 28 percent of isolation beds, 18 percent of ward beds, and 18 percent of ventilators currently in use.
As well as in Metro Manila where occupied ICU beds are currently at 31 percent, isolation beds at 25 percent, ward beds at 23 percent and 20 percent for ventilators.
On the other hand, the country’s positivity rate is now at 2.8 percent.
