DAVAO CITY——The legal counsel of televangelist Apollo C. Quiboloy has branded the sex trafficking indictment against him and two others as “another vicious attempt to bring down” the self-proclaimed ‘Appointed Son of God’ and his church.
In a press statement, which was indicated only as issued by the “KJC (Kingdom of Jesus Christ) Legal Counsel,” Quiboloy’s group said they “remain steadfast and committed to faithfully respond to its mission, its ministry and its divine calling despite all the detraction efforts made against them.”
It added that it is “confident and ready to face whatever is hurled against Pastor Quiboloy and the Kingdom leaders.”
“We trust the process of justice and we certainly expect the truth to prevail, and the Kingdom ministry will continue to prosper,” the statement said.
“With the growing ministry and followers of the Kingdom comes also the growing opposition who are trying their best to destroy it and all the Kingdom leaders. While jealousy and evil will never stop, we strongly believe that good always triumphs over evil,” it added.
It claimed that those who accused Quiboloy, a close friend of President Rodrigo Duterte, in California were the same people who also made similar accusations in Hawaii in 2018 when a former member of the church claimed she was abused.
