MANILA, Philippines — The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the COVID-19 mix-and-match clinical trials, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) announced Friday.
DOST Undersecretary Rowena Guevara said the FDA approved the clinical trials on November 16.
“Natapos na, finally, ang regulatory review ng mix-and-match. Ang application para sa clinical trial ay naaprubahan na ng FDA noong November 16,” Guevara said during the Laging Handa briefing.
(The regulatory review for the mix-and-match of COVID-19 vaccines has finally finished and the application for clinical trials has been approved by the FDA last November 16.)
“Ang trial ay nagsimula na ring mag-screen ng participants noong sumunod na araw sa kanilang trial site sa Marikina,” she added.
(The screening of participants for the trial also began the following day at their trial site in Marikina.)
The dry run for the mix-and-match clinical trials for COVID-19 vaccines started in October this year.
