LPA to bring rain to Bicol; mostly clear skies in rest of PH Friday – Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines — The country is expected to enjoy mainly fair weather despite a low-pressure area (LPA) east of Catanduanes, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
With the LPA last spotted 345 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes, the Bicol region is forecast to experience cloudy weather with scattered rain showers and thunder.
“Sa nalalabing bahagi ng Luzon kasama ang Metro Manila, ay magkakaroon naman ng maaliwalas na panahon, “ said Pagasa weather specialist Raymond Ordinario.
(In the rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila, there will be fair weather.)
“Maliban na lamang sa pulo-pulong mahinang ulan diyan sa northern at Central Luzon at isolated rain showers o thunderstorms naman dito sa Metro Manila at the rest of Southern Luzon area,” he added.
(Except for the light rain in Northern and Central Luzon and isolated rain showers or thunderstorms here in Metro Manila and the rest of the Southern Luzon area.)
Article continues after this advertisementGenerally, fair weather is also expected to prevail throughout Visayas and Mindanao, with the same forecast for light rain during the afternoon and evening.
Article continues after this advertisementOrdinario also said that the LPA affecting Bicol is not expected to escalate into a storm.
“Within the next two to three days maliit pa rin ang tiyansa na magkaroon tayo ng bagyo na maaring pumasok o mabuo sa ating Philippine area of responsibility,” he added.

Metro Manila: 24 to 32 degrees Celsius
Baguio City: 15 to 24 degrees Celsius
Laoag City: 24 to 33 degrees Celsius
Tuguegarao: 23 to 32 degrees Celsius
Legazpi City: 25 to 29 degrees Celsius
Puerto Princesa City: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
Tagaytay: 21 to 31 degrees Celsius
Kalayaan Islands: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius
Iloilo City: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
Cebu: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius
Tacloban City: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
Cagayan De Oro City: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
Zamboanga City: 23 to 33 degrees Celsius
Davao City: 25 to 33 degrees Celsius
Meanwhile, no gale warning is currently raised in any of the country’s surrounding seaboards and in-land seas, said Ordinario.
